Sung La Valley is likened to a beautiful natural painting, located about 20 km from Dong Van district (Ha Giang). From Yen Minh to Dong Van, to Pho Bang intersection, where the beautiful pass embraces a green valley, is the highest and most beautiful point to see the whole view of Sung La.

Sung La is likened to an “oasis” on the Dong Van stone plateau. Sung La valley is surrounded by majestic, undulating cat-ear stone mountains. From Pho Bang intersection, Sung La is as beautiful as a painting, looking strangely peaceful. Each season has its own food, Sung La seems to be dyed by the colours of plants grown by the local people around the area; sometimes it is the green of corn, sometimes the yellow of canola flowers, and even a few roses…. This season, Sung La valley becomes bright with the colour of buckwheat flowers. The pink buckwheat flower fields are in full bloom, the light pink color covers the valley, spreading from the mountain slopes to the foot of the hills, covering the winding mountain passes, showing off their colours everywhere… That gentle pink colour seems to soften the majestic mountain ranges, creating a more romantic and peaceful space around.

The center of Sung La valley has a wide, flat strip of land; there is Lung Cam cultural tourism village. Lung Cam people are honest and simple, like an ultimate attraction for tourists. In the late afternoon mist, with light drizzle, Lung Cam cultural tourism village is still bustling with visitors. The fields of buckwheat flowers seem to glow in the late afternoon, the rose buds are stretching. Leaning against the mountainside, the rammed earth houses further highlight the beauty of this place. There are ancient houses built over 100 years ago, creating unexpected discoveries for tourists who come to visit and take pictures.

Lung Cam cultural tourism village only has a few dozen houses, but it contains cultural diversity with 3 ethnic groups: Lo Lo, Mong and Han. The diligence of the people as well as their cultural activities exude the breath of life typical of the highlands.

The highlight here is the set of the movie “Pao’s Story”. The path leading to Pao’s house now passes through the poetic fields of buckwheat flowers and rose gardens; the stone fence and familiar wooden gate are still the same as ever. The children seem to please visitors with their broken Kinh conversation, enough to understand whether visitors want to take photos with them or give them gifts or candy. Life here still retains the cultural identity of the ethnic people, still carrying baskets to collect vegetables, carrying children, weaving linen…

Nowadays, coming to Lung Cam cultural tourism village, visitors can not only admire, interact and explore, but can also stay here to learn more about the unique features of this place. Visitors can also chat with the children, or buy some local products as gifts. In this seemingly peaceful, slow-paced valley, the children are as proficient in using smartphones as any child in the city. This probably comes from the support of the Information Center here when creating conditions for children to access computers connected to the internet to access information technology and outside culture. That novelty, every day, still diligently increases the children’s knowledge of modern culture, for an aspirational future.
